Amy is a freelance Costume Maker, and as a Graduate from the Costume for Screen and Stage Degree course at The Arts Institute, Bournemouth she has gained experience of making costumes for a variety of different genres, from historical reproductions through to ballet and opera costume.
Working closely with David Bowie tribute band 'The Bowie Xperience' she has re-created many of David Bowie's trademark looks with Laurence the lead singer wearing her costumes. In particular the Ziggy Stardust costume was worn by Laurence when he appeared in TV comedy series 'Time Trumpet' by Armando Iannucci, aired on BBC 2 in August 2006.
Recently she assisted with the photoshoot and production of a series of five posters for The Bowiexperience which have been shown on David Bowie's website which showcase three of her costumes.
She has worked in the wardrobe department on the hugely successful national tour of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at Southampton's Mayflower theatre, and briefly at The Dominion on 'We Will Rock You', as well as making costumes for The English Touring Opera Production of 'Bridgetower', a new jazz opera, making 18th Century costumes for autumn 2007 tour.
Her work for Costume World (one of the UK's leading costumiers to Light Entertainments) has appeared on stage in Europe through the Thomson Hotels entertainment shows, including dance costumes and the floorshow section of Rocky Horror Show.
For fancy dress and other projects, she has made many costumes, including 'Old Gregg' from The Mighty Boosh, a top inspired by the Robots in Disguise video for 'Girl' and merchandise for London's most respected and influential electro rock quartet 'Nemo'.
She has experience working in bridal wear, and has created a historically influenced dress which has a traditional steel boned corset and bustle skirt, which has been exhibited in the window of designer bridal store 'Society Brides' in Christchurch, Dorset.
